Why Inclusive Fashion Matters More Than Ever
Fashion should be for everybody, right?!
Yet for many people living with disabilities, chronic illness, sensory sensitivities, mobility challenges, medical devices & pregnancy/postpartum, getting dressed can be more difficult than most people realise!
Inclusive fashion is about creating clothing that considers the needs of different bodies, abilities & lifestyles. This can include adaptive features, accessible sizing, comfortable fabrics, sensory-friendly designs & clothing that allows people to express themselves without compromise.
Research shows that over 1 in 5 Australians live with a disability, yet many still struggle to find clothing that meets their needs while also reflecting their personal style.
The conversation around accessibility in fashion has grown significantly in recent years! Consumers are increasingly seeking brands that prioritise comfort, representation & inclusivity rather than focusing solely on trends or fast fashion.
Inclusive fashion isn't about creating separate clothing for different groups. It's about recognising that comfort, confidence & self-expression should be available to everyone!
Whether someone lives with a disability, chronic illness, temporary injury, or simply prefers comfortable clothing, inclusive design benefits everybody.
As the fashion industry continues to evolve, accessibility should no longer be considered a niche concept. It should be part of the standard.
Comfortable is, and always has been, the forefront of our designs at Zejt the label & our priority is to take on helpful feedback as we work towards maintaining our level of inclusivity & comfort.. without compromising on looking cute!
